Jadyn is the 2024, 2023, and 2022 Hometown Intern for the Diller Community Foundation Fund. This is her third year interning for the organization. She grew up on a farm outside of Diller and graduated from Diller-Odell in 2021. Jadyn is the daughter of Jamie and Sheri Schultis. Jamie is a farmer and Sheri is a Sales Consultant for Marcia Brenner Associates. Jadyn has two brothers, Caleb who is a Pioneer Seed Salesman in Clay Center, Kansas and Brennan who is a Junior at Diller-Odell. Upon graduating from Diller-Odell, Jadyn moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to attend the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. She is currently studying Elementary and Special Education at the Teacher's College on campus. Growing up, Jadyn was involved in many school activities including: FFA, Speech, Student Council, Engage, Basketball, and many more. Last summer, Jadyn spent her summer creating a Youth Serviceship camp where the youth of the community were invited to a fun day or learning how to serve others. She also worked with the Bank Museum to organize and gather data to be restore into the museum. As a returning intern, Jadyn hopes to continue her work on Youth Philanthropy and outreach into other communities. She is extremely passionate about the work she will be doing this summer and cannot wait to connect to communities members as well as our youth. In her free time, you can find Jadyn at the lake with her family, fishing, or spending time with friends in Lincoln.
Mallory is the summer 2024 Hometown Intern for the Diller Community Foundation Fund. Mallory has lived in Diller for her whole life and graduated from Diller-Odell in 2022. Her older sister, Hayley, is a K-12 art teacher and her younger brother, Peyton, is a junior in high school. Her father, John, is a K-6 Title 1 teacher at Diller-Odell elementary and her mother, Cheryl, works for Blue Valley Community Action Head Start in Fairbury. In the fall, Mallory will be a junior at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. She is majoring in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Special Education. Throughout her school years at Diller-Odell, Mallory was involved in many school activities including: FFA, 4-H, student council, National Honor Society, FBLA, basketball, track, and various others. Mallory is eager to start working on projects this summer that will help our community continue to grow. She will get to help work on the Youth Philanthropy camp and other projects that will benefit our community. She is excited to connect with both community members and those in other communities. In her free time, Mallory enjoys spending time with her family and younger cousins, watching movies or sports, and reading.
Alli was the 2023 Hometown Intern for the Diller Community Foundation Fund. This is her first year interning with the organization. She grew up on a family owned and operated dairy farm outside of Diller and graduated from Diller-Odell High School in 2022. Alli is the daughter of Adam and Brooke Engelman. Both her parents work on the family owned dairy operation. She has two siblings, Preston who is a Senior at Diller-Odell and Sidney who is a Freshman. After graduating high-school in 2022, Alli moved to Lincoln to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to pursue a degree in Agricultural Education. Alli was involved in many school activities growing up including 4-H, FFA, speech, student council, national honor society, softball and many more. Alli is excited to get to work this summer on a serviceship camp as well as many more community enhancing projects! She is looking forward to interning this summer to interact with community members and learn more about the Diller Community. In her spare time, Alli loves spending time on her family’s dairy farm and playing with her younger cousins.
Skylar was the summer 2022 Hometown Intern for the Diller Community Foundation Fund. Skylar used to live in Abilene, Kansas and Firth, Nebraska, but currently lives outside of Diller, NE. She graduated from Diller-Odell high school in 2021. She is attending the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and majoring in kinesiology and minoring in psychology. Skylar’s parents are Holli and Scott Pretzer, and has one older brother, Reid. Her family has four dogs and lots of farm critters. In high school, Skylar was involved in FFA, Student Council, FBLA, Crosswalk, and served as the Diller Community Foundation Fund’s youth rep. She hopes to effectively engage the youth in the Diller community because they are our future. Skylar will be working on outreach through the website and social media, preparing the Diller Picnic, and organizing the Diller bank museum.
Hayley was the summer 2021 and 2022 Hometown Intern for the Diller Community Foundation Fund. She has lived in Diller her whole life and graduated from Diller-Odell in 2018. Hayley is the oldest sibling with a younger sister, Mallory, and brother, Peyton. Her dad, John, is the K-6 Title I teacher at Diller-Odell elementary and her mom, Cheryl, works in Fairbury at Blue Valley Community Action Head Start. Hayley will be a senior next year at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. She is pursuing a degree in K-12 Art Education and will start student teaching next spring.Growing up, Hayley was a member of the Happy Harbiners 4-H club. This club did trash pick up, planted flowers in Diller, and other volunteer work within the community. She helped with Vacation Bible School at St. Paul’s Lutheran church and the Summer Reading Program in Diller. Hayley helped with the Tratter Gang meet and greet during the 2021 Diller Picnic. Since going to college, Hayley hasn’t had the opportunity to participate in a lot of volunteer work, but hopes to be more involved this summer during her internship. Hayley’s goal as a member of the Diller Community Foundation Fund is to create a successful website for the Fund, create a bigger social media presence on Facebook for the Fund, analyze the youth survey results, and research youth philanthropy projects. She also hopes to discover all of Diller’s assets and share them with the community. Hayley wants to inspire community members, especially the youth, to unleash active hope and not be afraid to share their ideas with the Diller Community Foundation Fund.
